Concrete Finishing Tools

Concrete finishing tools are used to smoothen the concrete surface with a smooth, rough, sweep, textured or steeple finish while it is still in a plastic state.

For concrete surface finish, this tools is used globally for various requirement and aesthetic look.

Types of concrete finishing tools:

1.Trowel Blade:

It is a handheld concrete finishing tool commonly used in small works such as plastering works normally made of wood, plastic, or steel and they are available in various sizes as per the requirement in the market.

The use of trowel blades imparts a hard polish to the surface of the concrete, meanwhile eliminating the risk of leaving a burnish mark on the concrete.

2.Long Handle Float:

The long handle float has a normal dimension of seven inches wide and it is available in various lengths up to 5 feet.

This concrete finishing tool provides a smooth finish to the concrete, it is connected with a long handle for finishing works or massive concrete surfaces.

It is made from high-quality versatile steel, the blade also options spherical ends prevent marking and gouging whereas making a smooth surface.

3.Power Trowels:

It is a lightweight concrete finishing instrument that is used to finish the concrete surface.

It consists of a set of trowels connected by powerful motors, which rotate at high speed on the concrete surface giving the concrete a nice and smooth finish.

4.Riding on power trowels:

In this trowels, the machine operator sits and operating machinery for smooth finishing of concrete.

5.Walk-back power trowel:

In this trowel operator walks behind machine.

6.Mechanical Tube Finisher:

A mechanical tube finisher has a single or multiple rotating strike off or finish tube setting.

The size of the finish tubes must be 2 feet longer than the required width of the concrete surface, this concrete finishing tool is commonly used in pavement finishing works.

7.Vibratory Screed Finisher:

A vibratory screwed finisher has a truss frame with a minimum base width of 1 foot.

This is mounted with a mechanical pushed eccentric weights or with an auxiliary driven pneumatic vibrator for the accomplishment of the vibratory action on the concrete.

This concrete finishing tool is usually used in pavement finishing works.

8.Tining Machine:

Tining is the process of making uniform transverse grooves in plastic concrete, it is done when another layer of concrete is applied to the surface for better joining.

Tining is done by both hand-held tools and mechanical tining machines, while the tining machine makes use of a texturizing comb with specified steel tins.

The grooves are positioned on the pavement to supply extra skid resistance and eliminate hydroplaning.

A hand instrument can be used with steel tines to provide grooves that conform to the requirements specified for the grooves formed by the mechanical tanning system.

Hand devices are used in ramps, connections, and other miscellaneous areas where mechanical tining devices are not practical.

9.Concrete Edger:

The edgers produce a clean round edge along the slab perimeter that helps prevent damage after removing the slab and removing the forms.

On most flooring, the edge will not be required, however, patios, curbs, sidewalks, and driveways produce a tight, cleaner-looking edge that is extra immune to peeling.

10.Broom:

Finishing a good broom is an art, a steel broom is used to obtain a rough and decorative concrete surface.

This concrete finishing tool makes a decorative effect by driving the texture of the broom in different directions.

11.Cove Trowel:

A cove trowel is also called a mag swirl trowel, it has become significantly popular for driveways and outdoor areas that require little extra traction without holding an excessive amount of dust.

This trowel has wonderful edges on two sides and shaped edges on the other two sides with the use of teeth, totally different patterns might be created.
